Terms of service

Last updated September 4, 2026

These terms apply to your use of https://statuscheck.io and, once you have an account, the StatusCheck service (“the Service”). By using either, you agree to them. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind it.

Early access

The Service is currently in early access. Features may change, be added, or be removed before general availability, and we may occasionally need to reset or migrate data with notice. Early-access pricing is honored for at least twelve months after general availability for accounts created during early access.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@statuscheck.io if you believe it has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You may only monitor targets you own or are authorized to monitor. You may not use the Service to probe, load-test, or attack systems without permission, to send unsolicited messages to status-page subscribers, or in any way that breaks the law or harms the Service or other customers. We may suspend accounts that do.

SMS and phone-call alerts on paid plans are subject to fair use. They exist for genuine incidents, not for a monitor that pages every minute for days. If usage looks like a misconfiguration we will contact you and help fix it before anything else.

Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings, and your data remains exportable until the account is closed. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes.

Availability and support

We work hard to keep the Service reliable, and it would be strange not to, but except where an Enterprise agreement says otherwise, the Service is provided without an uptime guarantee during early access. Support is by email; response targets depend on your plan.

Your data

Your monitors, check results, incidents, and status pages belong to you. We use them only to provide the Service, as described in our privacy policy. Status-page subscribers are your subscribers; we process their data on your behalf.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, is owned by StatusCheck. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these terms. Feedback you give us may be used to improve the Service without obligation.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including losses caused by a missed or delayed alert.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Either of us may end the agreement at any time: you by closing your account, we by giving notice, or immediately for a material breach.
